Would you like to start a business in the United States? This is an excellent choice, as this country truly enables entrepreneurs to establish their company under favorable conditions.

But in which state should you register your business? Are all states equal in the USA? What pitfalls should you avoid? If you are hesitating between Nevada, Delaware, or Florida to register your company in the United States, we invite you to review the information in our guide.

Why shouldn’t you choose your company’s location in the United States at random?

If you want to launch your business in the USA, it is important to take the time to learn about how the United States works beforehand. During your research, you will discover in particular that the country is made up of 50 sovereign states. Each state therefore has the ability to make decisions in many areas, from education and justice to the economy.

That is why it is essential not to choose your business location at random: the rules differ from one state to another, and the advantages are not necessarily the same either.

Starting a business in Delaware is therefore completely different from launching your company in Florida.

Should states like Nevada or Delaware be avoided?

As a non-resident of the United States, you may decide to launch your business in Delaware or Nevada. This is a choice made every year by a large number of entrepreneurs, and it is easy to understand why: the tax system there is highly advantageous.

However, this is not a choice we recommend. Indeed, these states have a reputation for being tax havens, even though they are not included on the OECD's blacklist.

But why are these states considered tax havens? Take Delaware, for example. In this state, identifying the beneficial owner is not mandatory, so their anonymity is guaranteed. Entrepreneurs who want to evade taxes are generally very interested in the possibility of preserving their anonymity.

Is Florida a good choice for starting a company in the USA?

Fortunately, there are other options for setting up your business in the USA. For example, we have chosen to support entrepreneurs who want to launch their company in Florida.

Like Delaware and Nevada, Florida is a state that offers highly attractive tax benefits. However, its reputation is much better: this state is not considered a tax haven.

Here are some of the benefits you can enjoy if you choose to register your company in Florida:

  • Florida's international image is excellent, as is its economic situation. You can therefore be sure that you are launching your company in a state that places great importance on the legality of the businesses it hosts.
  • There is no personal income tax in Florida. You will therefore be able to deduct your income from your net profits. However, you will be taxed at a rate of 5.5% if your profits exceed $50,000. But rest assured: this is still highly advantageous!
