Good to know
This page is intended to explain the different visas available to help you see things more clearly!
Please note that our firm does not specialize in visa applications (tourist, work, or residence visas) for the USA.
If necessary, we work with a law firm specializing in this area, located near our offices, if you wish to obtain work and residence visas (tourist visas are applied for directly online; we provide the relevant websites).
Visa exemption, nonimmigrant visa, or immigrant visa?
First of all, it is important to distinguish between an immigrant visa (IV) and a nonimmigrant visa (NIV):
Immigrant Visa (IV)
An immigrant visa (IV) is issued to a person wishing to live permanently in the United States.
Nonimmigrant Visa (NIV)
A nonimmigrant visa (NIV) is issued to a person whose permanent residence is outside the United States but who wishes to travel to the United States temporarily for tourism, medical treatment, business, temporary work, or study. Foreign nationals who wish to live permanently in the United States must first obtain an immigrant visa. This is the first step toward becoming a lawful permanent resident.
