Our firm is the leading advisor for French-speaking high-level athletes (active or “retired”) residing in Dubai.
We have therefore developed a solution specially designed for them.
Our support in Dubai
Create and grow your company
We are creating a Free-zone company that will allow athletes to invoice for their services (marketing, brand placement) or receive the proceeds from their sales (commission, intermediation).
We also assist athletes with opening a business bank account.
We can also help draft and validate commercial contracts.
We handle accounting and, where applicable, the annual audit of the accounts and VAT returns (if applicable).
Reside in Dubai
Establishing a Free-zone company will make it possible to obtain a residence visa, an Emirates ID (UAE identity card), and a local driving license.
We also assist the athlete with opening a personal bank account.
We also provide advice on choosing health, home, and car insurance.
If necessary, we can also put you in touch with a real estate agent to help you find a property in Dubai.
Invest for the long term
Why this approach
Athletes are often young, and their future income sometimes offers little long-term visibility. Or they have ended their sporting careers and need to secure their future with the earnings they have received.
We train them to build financial investments that they have complete control over (with no intermediary). The investments are simple and liquid. To do this, we follow the recommendations of John C. Bogle (founder of The Vanguard Group, ranked as the second-largest asset management company by assets under management and considered the father of index funds).
Setup
A securities account with a reputable brokerage firm (Interactive Broker, Saxo Bank, SwissQuote, Sarwa) will be opened in the athlete’s name (once again, with no intermediary). The portfolio will consist of liquid securities (known as ETFs) listed in Ireland (for tax optimization for UAE residents). The securities to select and their allocation (stocks/bonds) will be explained so that the influencer can decide independently while understanding their investments.
This is in no way speculation. John C. Bogle’s basic philosophy is that, over the long term, it is impossible to beat the market. The only way to grow one’s money over the long term is to follow a “Buy and hold” strategy.
This approach seems relevant to us for young athletes seeking a reliable long-term investment without a background in finance.
