When it comes to setting up your company, you are not particularly worried because you know that our firm will provide you with the best possible support. However, you have many questions about
your future life in the United Arab Emirates, particularly where you will live:
which neighborhood should you live in Dubai?
We will tell you about Dubai’s various neighborhoods so that you can see things a little more clearly.
How do you choose your residential neighborhood in Dubai?
Before looking into
Dubai’s neighborhoods, we recommend asking yourself a few questions to best define your plans for living in the United Arab Emirates:
- What budget do you have for your rent in Dubai?
- Do you want to live in an apartment or a villa?
- How many bedrooms?
- What kind of environment are you looking for (beach, city center, desert…)?
- Do you have children who need to attend school near your home?
The answers to these questions are essential for the real estate agent assisting you. This will enable them to suggest properties in the Dubai neighborhoods that best suit you.
Neighborhoods to know in Dubai
We invite you to take a brief
look at Dubai’s various neighborhoods. As you will notice, each has its own atmosphere: it is up to you to choose the neighborhood that best matches all your preferences (and, of course, your budget!):
-
Deira and Bur Dubai: these are Dubai’s historic neighborhoods, in other words, the oldest ones. They have a great deal of charm and attract tourists thanks to their abundance of souks and other traditional restaurants. Expats generally do not choose to live in these two neighborhoods, but it is worth knowing that life there is relatively inexpensive.
- The city center: impossible to overlook when talking about Dubai, the city center is home to the famous Burj Khalifa tower. Luxury hotels, offices, and high-end shopping malls are part of the landscape.
-
Business Bay: built in the late 2000s, Business Bay is an up-and-coming neighborhood. And for good reason: it is both a thriving business district and a sought-after residential area.
-
Dubai Canal: a neighborhood that is still under construction but is expected to become a must-see area in the coming years. Many large-scale real estate projects are planned there. A neighborhood to watch…
-
Jumeirah / Umm Suqeim: these are two vibrant residential neighborhoods that are very popular with expats, particularly those who can afford to rent a villa or apartment near the sea. However, note that foreigners cannot purchase real estate in the Umm Suqeim neighborhood.
-
Dubai Marina: without a doubt, the largest and most luxurious marina in the world! This neighborhood is packed with hotels and high-rise apartment buildings. It is very popular with expats.
-
Jumeirah Beach Residence: if you are a fan of luxury, this neighborhood should not leave you indifferent… But the apartments and villas in this area are often extremely expensive!
-
Palm Jumeirah: very popular with tourists, this artificial island is a Dubai attraction worth discovering. It is home to luxury hotels, including the famous Atlantis resort, as well as beautiful villas and apartments overlooking the sea.
-
Arabian Ranches: located in the desert, this neighborhood will particularly appeal to those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of downtown or Dubai’s beaches.
If you cannot decide
which neighborhood to live in Dubai, we can offer you two pieces of advice:
- Visit the city to get a feel for it and explore its different neighborhoods
- Get assistance from a trusted real estate agency that can advise you based on your preferences, needs, and budget. Ideally, it is best to work with a real estate agency that is accustomed to working with expats. This is the case with our partner real estate agency, whose contact details we can provide.
