The
2022 World Cup will take place in Qatar, a small but wealthy gas-rich state. Doha won the right to host the tournament, a first in the Arab world.
The football World Cup will take place from November 20 to December 18, 2022, from Qatar's National Day until one week before Christmas.
A multiple-entry tourist visa for the UAE will be granted to international supporters holding the "Hayya" Card
As Qatar prepares to host the FIFA World Cup in November 2022, authorities have announced that the Emirates will grant multiple-entry visas to spectators wishing to attend one or more matches of the tournament. These visas are renewable for 100 dirhams, equivalent to 27 euros. Applications for this new type of visa will be accepted from November 1, 2022.
This is a significant change from the past, when only single-entry visas were available.
Visas for holders will be issued in five steps. These steps will be enough for football fans to obtain a multiple-entry tourist visa for the United Arab Emirates. The visa will be issued to holders of the
"Hayya Card", a personalized document required to attend one of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 matches from November 20 to December 18.
With this visa, World Cup supporters can enter the Emirates several times over a 90-day period. The visa fee has been reduced to a single amount of 100 Dh. It can be extended for an additional 90 days upon payment of the usual fee.
This decision is seen as a way to demonstrate the country's power and influence in the region, with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates being major players in world football. It is also an economic opportunity for neighboring countries seeking to benefit from the economic impact.
It is also a way to support the State of Qatar in organizing the World Cup, as the latter has faced enormous pressure since winning the right to host the tournament.
This decision and this new type of visa will undoubtedly be welcomed by supporters from around the world who wish to attend the planet's biggest sporting event. It remains to be seen how many supporters will take advantage of this opportunity, but it is certainly a step in the right direction for those who want to experience the World Cup.
Saudi Arabia has also announced that it will grant visas to people holding the Hayya Card for the 2022 World Cup.
What is the Hayya Card?
The Hayya Card will serve as an entry permit to Qatar, the host country, for the duration of the tournament and will be mandatory for football fans wishing to attend the matches.
It was announced that these Hayya Cards would be distributed to supporters of the teams participating in the tournament. All Hayya Card holders will have access to the matches and may benefit from discounts on food and souvenirs. Fans will be required to obtain this card in order to make the most of their experience. Transportation may be used free of charge on match days.
Of course, in addition to this card, a match ticket is mandatory if you hope to take your seat in the stands at the World Cup matches.
It should be noted that visitors from visa-exempt countries will not need to apply for the new visa because agreements with their countries of origin already allow them to enter and stay in the UAE without applying in advance.
Dubai will grant multiple-entry visas to supporters: a step toward restoring ties with Qatar?
A 90-day multiple-entry visa allows supporters to enter Qatar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The United Arab Emirates have also announced that they will issue visas to supporters of teams participating in the tournament who wish to travel between the two countries. The UAE economy is expected to benefit from the influx of visitors during the World Cup. The number of visitors represents an economic opportunity.
The airline
Flydubai has just announced that it will offer no fewer than thirty (30) round-trip flights per day between Dubai and Doha throughout the FIFA World Cup. These shuttles have been set up to facilitate travel between the two countries. Supporters will therefore be able to leave for Doha in the morning and return to Dubai the same day.
Booking a hotel, apartment, or any other accommodation will therefore not be necessary.
The country is preparing to offer supporters numerous attractive hotel and tourism packages.
This is a prime example of a country seeking to maximize the economic benefits of the 2022 World Cup tournament in neighboring Qatar.
