In a few months, you will be moving to the United Arab Emirates, and more specifically to Dubai, to develop your
free-zone company as effectively as possible. Your family will be joining you on this adventure, which represents a major change, especially for your children!
When it comes to their education, you have many questions:
- Which school should you enroll them in?
- Would it be better to enroll your child in a French-speaking or English-speaking school?
- Is the education system in Dubai effective?
- And what about its annual cost?
In this article, we will review the different
education systems available so that you can make the best choice for your children’s schooling.
What educational options are available in Dubai, United Arab Emirates?
In the United Arab Emirates, and more specifically in Dubai, the range of schools is both diverse and high-performing. Primary school, middle school, high school, university… Whatever your child’s educational level, you should be able to find a school that meets all your requirements.
You should know that Dubai has French, American, Lebanese, and British schools. Although the education system used varies greatly from one school to another, they have several points in common:
- They are private schools
- Their annual cost is relatively high, although French-speaking schools are somewhat less expensive
- Waiting lists can reach 2 years at the best schools… We therefore recommend that you do not delay enrolling your child in your preferred school in Dubai.
How do you choose your child’s school in Dubai?
If you are planning to launch
your company in Dubai in the coming months, we recommend that you look into the question of schools for your children as soon as possible. Since waiting lists are long, it is best not to leave it until the last minute.
Here is our advice:
- First, learn about the different education systems and consider what you want for your children. For example, some parents prefer to enroll their child in a French-speaking school so as not to disrupt their routine too much. Others, however, see English-speaking schools as a great opportunity for their child to leave the school system bilingual.
- Then, enroll your child in several schools. As we have already explained, it can sometimes take 2 years to secure a place, particularly at the best schools in Dubai. It is therefore preferable to apply to several schools.
Good to know: places are sometimes allocated as a priority based on the child’s place of residence. For example, families living in Emirates Living receive priority for schools located in that area. When choosing the neighborhood where you will live with your family, we therefore recommend that you do not overlook this aspect, as it may save you many months on the waiting list.
How can our firm help you find the ideal school for your children?
Our firm has an in-depth understanding of
the education system in Dubai, or rather, the different education systems that coexist there. We can therefore recommend the best schools in Dubai based on your preferences (a French or American school, for example), as well as your place of residence. Indeed, this is highly important:
- Some schools give priority places to children who live in the neighborhood
- It is more convenient for a child to attend a school in their area rather than having to cross the entire city morning and evening
Even if your
company in Dubai has not yet been established, you can ask us questions about the city’s school options: the best schools, the enrollment procedure, the cost, and so on. As we have already mentioned, it is important not to wait until the last minute to secure a place at a good school. We take your children’s education seriously and can therefore assist you in finding the ideal school.
